The Rarest plant on our Ranch currently, also known as Protea ‘Jester’ not to be confused with Leucadendron.
You will receive a healthy 1 Gallon Plant that is a year old since rooting, like the potted one pictured, Standard 1 Gallon Nursery pot size.
Jester Protea (Protea obtusifolia) is an exceptionally rare offering for serious collectors. The species is officially classified as Near Threatened in its native South Africa, where wild populations are declining from habitat loss and overharvesting. Its huge, sculptural red-and-cream flowers, evergreen foliage, and extraordinary rarity make this a true centerpiece plant—and one you simply don’t see offered.
* Mature Size: Approx. 6ft. tall and wide
* USDA Zones: 9–10
* Light: Full sun
* Bloom Time: Fall through spring
* Flowers: Deep red with striking cream-white accents
* Water: Low; drought tolerant once established
* Cut Flower: Exceptional and long lasting
* Conservation: Species classified as Near Threatened in the wild

🌿 SHIPPING & PACKAGING
All plants are grown at our ranch in Santa Cruz County, California and carefully selected and prepared for shipment by Warlock Gardens.
We do not ship to Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Plants may be shipped without nursery pots to reduce shipping weight, prevent damage, and keep shipping costs reasonable. The root ball and growing medium will remain intact and will be securely wrapped and sealed to retain moisture and prevent soil from spilling during transit.
🌱 LIVE PLANT DISCLAIMER
Every plant is a living, naturally grown specimen. The plant you receive may vary slightly from listing photographs in height, fullness, branching, leaf size, coloration, flower count, or growth habit.
Listing photographs are intended to accurately represent the variety and general size/quality of the plants being offered, but no two plants are exactly alike.
📦 TRANSIT & ARRIVAL
We take great care when packaging our plants, but shipping is naturally stressful for living material. Temporary wilting, leaf drop, bent leaves, minor cosmetic damage, or some yellowing can occasionally occur during transit.
Most plants recover quickly after being unpacked, watered as needed, and allowed to acclimate to their new environment.
Please unpack your plant promptly after delivery.
📸 DAMAGE OR PROBLEMS ON ARRIVAL
We want your plants to arrive healthy and as described.
If there is any problems with your order, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery and include clear photographs of:
* The plant
* The packaging
* The shipping box
* Any visible damage
Please contact us before discarding, pruning, repotting, or otherwise substantially altering the plant, as we may need photographs of its condition upon arrival in order to evaluate the issue.
Minor cosmetic shipping damage, temporary wilting, small amounts of leaf loss, soil displacement, or normal transplant/shipping stress are not considered significant damage.
🪴 AFTER DELIVERY
Once a live plant has been delivered, its continued health depends on many conditions outside of our control, including watering, soil, climate, temperature, light, planting technique, fertilizer, pests, and general care.
For this reason, we cannot guarantee the long-term survival or performance of plants after they have been received and cared for by the buyer.
Please research the growing requirements of the variety you are purchasing and make sure it is appropriate for your climate and intended growing conditions.
🏡 SHIPPING ADDRESS
Please verify your shipping address before placing your order.
Buyers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. We cannot guarantee replacement or reimbursement for plants that are delayed, returned, lost, or damaged because an incorrect or incomplete address was provided at checkout.
Please also make arrangements to retrieve your package promptly after delivery. Plants left outdoors, in parcel lockers, mailrooms, or other uncontrolled environments after confirmed delivery may be exposed to damaging temperatures or conditions.
↩️ RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS
If your plant arrives with a significant issue, please contact us within the arrival window described above so we can review the situation and work towards a replacement specimen or a credit towards future specimens.
Cancellation requests should be submitted as quickly as possible. Orders that have already been packaged, processed, or transferred to the shipping carrier may no longer be eligible for cancellation.
Because plants are living and perishable products, we generally do not accept returns of live plants.
